About KROQ:

When the Ramones and The Sex Pistols debuted in the '70s, KROQ was one of the very few places you could hear them on the radio. The station went on to help launch the careers of The Cure, Depeche Mode, The Smiths, Red Hot Chili Peppers, No Doubt, Linkin Park, Sublime, and No Doubt. KROQ's influence on what SoCal listens to and its success launching some of the biggest bands in the world make KROQ a station like no other. "The World Famous KROQ" started out as a self-deprecating slogan, but is now very much a reality.
